The Advent Conspiracy

In the Sundays leading up to Christmas we will be looking at the Advent Conspiracy.  An opportunity to re-align ourselves with what the Bible teaches about the real meaning of Christmas and not what the world has made it!  You can check out the AC at  Let’s conspire together 🙂

A Word from Peter

As we approach the final months of 2017, we do so giving thanks to God our Creator and sustainer through The Lord Jesus Christ. God has faithfully led us, patiently teaching us, and graciously helping us every step of the way. And so, whatever 2018 may hold for us, we can as a Church look forward with confidence for what God has in store, seeking to be faithful to His Holy Word the Bible, listening to God’s Spirit and seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus (2 Pet 3: 18).

Thank you for your continued prayers and support from all at Glenburn Baptist Church.

Ps 40: 1 – 3 “I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”

New Lead Pastor Appointed

2016 was a taxing year for the Church, as we sought after Gods direction in appointing a new Lead Pastor. Striving to ensure that we sought after God diligently, that he would provide the Church with peace, wisdom and stability through a potentially turbulent time.

However through prayer and patiently waiting on Gods timing, we are delighted to say, that on the 18th December 2016 Peter Carr was officially appointed, by the membership of Glenburn Baptist Church, to the position of Lead Pastor. Peter Carr will be officially assuming this role this coming Sunday, 5th February 2017. With this is mind, here is a small snippet directly from Peter.

Nineteen years ago I gave my life to Jesus Christ in a small flat in the West End of Glasgow. My life on my terms had taken me down wrong paths. That night I cried out to God and asked his forgiveness for my sin and rebellion, asking Jesus Christ to be my Saviour.

It is the best decision that I have ever made and have never regretted it. Like other Christians I now know the daily joy of sins forgiven and peace with God.

Once I took that decision I knew it was all or nothing. Jesus Christ is my all and knowing and serving his perfect will is now a daily delight.

I am delighted to respond to His call to Pastor Glenburn Baptist Church. Knowing that He calls, equips, sends and sustains. And so, with Jesus Christ at the center, trusting him and his word, I look forward with confidence to worshiping, working and learning together with the Church family at Glenburn Baptist Church and to what God has in store.

A key passage for me from the outset of my ministry continues to be Proverbs 3: 5 & 6. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

We too as a Church are excited to see what God has in store for us as we embark on this new chapter. Please pray for our new Pastor as he settles into the Church and that any final transitions with moving etc will go smoothly.
